DOLCIANO

The Locanda and the garden

A few kilometers from the historic center of Chiusi, within the village of the "Tenuta Granducale di Dolciano",
is La Locanda delle Scuderie, a restaurant born from the old stables of the Grand Duke Leopoldo.
The Locanda delle Scuderie is also the ideal place for events and weddings, also thanks to the presence of the ancient church dedicated to San Francesco.

La Locanda

The ancient grand-ducal stables

The Locanda delle Scuderie was born within what were once the ancient Grand Ducal stables. Surrounded by an immense and suggestive park,

the typical Sienese cuisine restaurant welcomes you in a refined setting that takes you back in time. In this welcoming and rustic yet elegant atmosphere, each customer is treated with warmth and courtesy. All this makes the typical Sienese cuisine restaurant the ideal place for small private events such as baptisms, anniversaries and unforgettable weddings.

Tenuta Granducale Dolciano

The restaurant is located in Dolciano in an old stable surrounded by greenery, a perfect location for elegant ceremonies. First nicknamed Fattoria del Paglieto or Pagliolaio, at the end of the 17th century it was purchased by Francesco I ° de 'Medici and took the definitive name of Fattoria di Dolciano. Only with the accession to the throne of Peter Leopold Hapsburg Lorraine did the real construction work on the farm and outbuildings begin. With the establishment of the new Kingdom of Italy, the Government, between 1863 and 1864, decided to sell all the state-owned farms to individuals and consequently also the important complex of Dolciano passed into the hands of the Bologna family which still owns it. .
